The Divine Feminine Cacao Ceremony

Imagine a woman empowered in her being, connected to a sense of creative force that guides and informs her path through life. A woman who finds her deepest sense of worth, not in the approval of others but in the knowing of her divine nature.

For over 100 years International Women’s Day has been a day to celebrate the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women and raise awareness of the inequalities and injustices of a system that has created a disconnection between human beings and our Mother Earth.

On March 8th we will honour this auspicious, feminine empowered day by opening the space for a week-long creative exploration into The Divine Feminine by Coromandel artist Charlene Scott.

This exhibition is more than a gallery experience, it is a dynamic, embodied exploration. The Cacao Ceremony will help to create sacred space for Charlene’s artwork and the wonderful evening events that will take place over the course of the week in Hauraki House from 9-14th March. What is the Cacao Ceremony all about?

The energy of the Divine Feminine invites us to get out of our heads and into our bodies where we can open to a sense of creative life force, intuition, passion and vibrant sexuality.

In this rousing opening ceremony, we will explore the nature of the Divine Feminine in ourselves. With the help of Cacao which has long been revered as a medicine for awakening the divine, we will activate our shakti (feminine life force) energy and embark on an exploration of Charlene's artwork from an embodied state.

This ceremony is open to everyone, as the Divine Feminine resides in us all. We ask that you come with an open heart, a willingness to explore the nature of the feminine and a sense of curiosity.

Attendance is $10 - RSVP is essential in order for us to have enough cacao for everyone. Please take a moment to register now online, you can pay cash at the door.

If you would like to attend but would prefer to not have cacao please let us know when you book and we can have herbal tea ready as an alternative.

More about the embodied events happening throughout The Divine Feminine exhibit.

Over the course of the week, this sacred art space will invite people to connect, co-create and expand into the fullness of their divine essence. Feeling where the edges of cultural and social conditioning, patriarchal expectation and self-limitation soften, to make way for nurturing exploration and awakening.

Tuesday 9th March  7-8.15pm  | YIN YOGA CLASS

Soften and surrender into your body and breath with a gentle nurturing yin practice by Toni Calder (everybody welcome, koha - limited numbers, bookings essential)

Wednesday 10th March  7-8.30pm  | ECSTATIC DANCE

Explore your own inner feminine energy with an embodied free-form movement practice facilitated by Charlene (everybody welcome, $15)

Friday 12th March  4-7pm  |  Late night drop-in

A chance to experience the artworks and explore, feel, soak up the energy and rest into being outside of the regular exhibition hours.

Saturday 13th March  7-10pm  | MOON LODGE - WOMEN’S WORKSHOP

Unveil the Blood Mysteries. A deep dive into the taboo topic of menstruation and conversations to reaffirm that being a woman is worth celebrating with Jade. (For female bodied beings only, $15 - bookings essential)
