Commercial Cladding Issues

Had something close to that happen with a mixed-use block I was involved with. The first sign was just ugly staining and a few soft spots, but once someone checked behind the facade, there were moisture issues that wouldn’t have been fixed by surface repairs. I’d get a proper assessment first, then talk to a main contractor who understands commercial recladding, remediation and council compliance, because access, tenants and timelines all make it more complicated than a house job. I saved a while back because they cover recladding, remedial work, renovations and commercial construction in Auckland, so they seemed like the kind of team that could manage the whole thing rather than just one trade.

From what I’ve seen with building upgrades, the biggest difference is having someone coordinate the moving parts early. Scaffolding, reports, consents, tenant access, safety planning and finishing work can all overlap, so a tidy process usually saves a lot of back-and-forth later.
